Edward L. Crawford

Edward L. Crawford, 63, formerly of Weale, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL, after a long illness. He was born May 22, 1951 to Leland and Helen Crawford in Denver, CO. Ed retired from the United States Navy after 28 years, 9 months, and 16 days, but no one was counting. He loved to ride his motorcycle and build model airplanes. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Julia (nee Taschner), daughter Jessica (André) Spicer of Jacksonville, FL, son Nathan (Heather) Crawford of Piedmont, SC, daughter Jennifer (Paul) Burbos of Orange Park, FL, 6 grandchildren (Sarah, Ciarra, Gavin, Lauren, Lynne and Micah) as well as other extended family and friends. Visitation and services took place May 18 & 19, 2015 in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Interment took place at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Edward’s name to Community Hospice of Northeast FL, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
