Edward "Ted" J. La Fave

Edward James La Fave "Ted Snowshoe La Fave", age 82, passed away February 16, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Ted was born May 6, 1934, in Elmwood Township, to Garfield and Verna (Truesdale) La Fave. He married Joann Cryderman on April 23, 1960, in Quanicasee. He worked for Chevrolet/GM in Warren for many years. He was an active Sebewaing Lion's Club member and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed working in his large gardens, tinkering in the garage, woodworking and listening to older country music.

Ted is survived by his wife, Joann; son, Sam Edward (Maureen) La Fave of Elkton; grandchildren: Vanessa (Bradley) Fotopoulous and Matthew (Jillian) La Fave; siblings: Joyce (Jim) Headley, Florence (Matt) Staricha, Vera (Herman) Law and John (Mary) La Fave; and many nieces and nephews.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Ruth (Van) Disjordan and Tom (Helen) La Fave.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. A luncheon will follow at the church.

Burial will be at Juniata Township Cemetery (Watrousville).

Memorial donations may be given to Leader Dog for the Blind or Trinity United Methodist Church.
