Edward B. Keller, age 80 of Caseville died Friday morning, November 23, while under the care of Marlette United Hospice.
He was born November 1, 1927 in Flint to the late Benno and Inez (D'antoni) Keller.
On September 7,1950, he was united in marriage to Bonita Cook in Pewamo.
Ed served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1948.
Shortly after returning from the service, he began working at General Motors, Buick Division in Flint. He retired as an Experimental machinist in 1981 with over 30 years of service, that same year he and Bonita moved to Caseville. Bonita preceded him in death five years later on February 13, 1986.
Ed was active in the Caseville Eagles and Caseville American Legion where he participated in many veteran graveside services. He was also so a member of St Francis Borgia Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
On January 27, 1996, he married Dottie A. (Radomski) Kempisty in Elkton.
Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching birds.
Surviving are his wife, Dottie; four daughters, Christine (Charlie Shipp) Keller of Brighton, Kathleen (Dan) Gasper of Millington, Teresa (Steve) San Filippo of Yreka, CA and Bonnie Richmond and fiance' Steve Ewald of Pigeon; nine grandchildren, Seth, Danny, Rory, Elizabeth, Jimmy, Jennifer, Julianne, Jay and Joanna; a great grandson, Finn; five step children, Tom (Brenda) Kempisty Jr. of Bad Axe, Tim (Tammy) Kempisty of Texas, Debbie (Randy) Fritz of Owendale, Patty (Bob) Haldane of Gagetown and Donald Kempisty of Owendale and nine step grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Richard Keller and his sister, Philomena Roth.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon with military honors to follow by the Caseville American Legion Jean Post 543. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friend may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Monday and at the church after 10 am Tuesday.
An eagle ritual will be conducted 4 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial may be given to the Alzheimer's Assn. or the family.
