Edward Lee Kimbrue of Caro, age 80, passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 4, 2024. Edward was born January 26, 1944, in Bay City, the son of the late Albert and Helen (Lee) Kimbrue. He dedicated several years to serving his community through his work at the Tuscola County Health Department, eventually retiring as Director of Environmental Health. An avid outdoorsman, Edward was a longtime member of the Tuscola County Conservation Club and found happiness in hunting, fishing, and wood carving, earning many accolades for his craft. Above all else, Edward’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, to whom he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a man who was truly loved by all, always had a story to tell, and served as an anchor to the Kimbrue family.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Kathy Kimbrue; two children, Edward Kimbrue, and Charlotte Liken and her husband, Fred; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert (Sam); sister-in-law, Sandra; sister, Ruthy Frost; brother-in-law, William; sister, Charlotte Atkinson; brother-in-law, Charles; and a grandson, Andrew Teller.
In keeping with Edward’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
