Edwin Moore, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his home, following a lingering illness. Ed was born March 5, 1930 near Snover, the son of the late John N. & Estella B. (Miltzow) Moore. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Airborne and served in Korea where he earned two Purple Hearts before being retired from service under disability in October of 1952. Ed was united in marriage with the former Beverly J. McConnell on December 5, 1952 in Detroit. For the next thirty years, Ed was employed as an Orthotist, making prosthetics, braces and medical support equipment at Wright and Filippis Medical Supply Company, retiring in 1989. Ed and Beverly moved to Caro from Sterling Heights in 1994. He enjoyed working with wood, machinery and motors and took pride in the rooms, porches and sheds that he added to his home. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and the D.A.V. Left to cherish Eds memory are his wife of over fifty-seven years, Beverly Moore of Caro; one son and one daughter, Douglas M. Moore of Pontiac, Karen M. Yates and her husband, Ronald of Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel and Ava Grace Yates, all living at home; one brother, one sister and their spouses, Bill & Donna Moore of Washington, Michigan, Beverly & Bill Thomas of North Branch and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
