Eileen Muentener, age 82, of Pigeon, died Friday afternoon, March 7, at her home while under hospice care.
She was born August 26, 1920 at the home of her parents, the late Anthony and Anna (Walding) Englehardt in Filion.
On May 6, 1966 she was united in marriage to Gerald R. Muentener in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1999.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon and was a homemaker. Eileen enjoyed playing cards and going to the coffee shop to visit friends. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are six children, Janet (Al) Fleis of Westland, Dave (Pat) Campbell of Fairland, IN, Karen (Michael) McDonnough of Canton, Donna (Al) Santelle of Sand Point, Florence Whelihan of Magnolia, TX and Linda (Allen) Jones of Sebewaing; sister-in-laws Alice Cooper of Cleveland, TX and Julie Muentener of Port Austin; two brothers, Bob (Elaine) Englehardt of Bad Axe and Charley Englehardt of Washington; one sister, Cassie Ritter of Fraiser; many grandchildren: great grandchildren and Sweetie, her cat. Preceding her in death were two sons, Gerald Muentener, Jr. and Stanley Cooper; two brothers, Ed and Dennis Englehardt and her sister, Marie Labelle.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, March 10, at Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon. Rev. Michael Sawicki, pastor, will officiate with burial in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 PM Sunday, March 9, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church, Monday after 10 AM.
