Elaine “Dianne” Middaugh

Elaine "Dianne" Middaugh of Cass City, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her daughter's home, with her loving family by her side. Dianne was born January 30, 1941 in Bay City, the daughter of the late William and Clara (McCreedy) Cartwright. She graduated from Fairgrove High School and in her younger years was active in the Fairgrove United Methodist Church. On August 28, 1959, Dianne married the love of her life, Theron Lee Middaugh. Together they shared over fifty-three years, seven children, and countless memories. Sadly, Theron passed away on December 18, 2012. In the 60's Dianne was a wonderful homemaker, in the mid 70's she drove school buses, and she ended her working years at Hills & Dale Hospital as a cook for over twenty years. She enjoyed crafting, finding deals at garage sales, and shopping. Dianne and Theron were wonderful woodworkers and loved going for motorcycle rides all over Michigan. Dianne's greatest joy was the adventures she had with her children and eventually with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had the biggest heart and always made sure everyone was taken care of. Dianne will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Dianne leaves to cherish her memory her children, Cindy (Mike) Fields, Jill (Joe) Leeson, Mike (Kristin) Middaugh, and Tim (Kris) Middaugh; daughter-in-law, Tammy Middaugh; grandchildren, Jon, Joshua, Stephanie & Nick, Morgan & Jared, Kyle & Becca, Nick & Randi, Fred III, Brandon, Carter, Logan, and Seder; fourteen great-grandchildren with two on the way; sister, Jeanette Staschke; many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dianne was preceded in death by her infant son, Theron Jr.; sons, Chuck Middaugh and Ken Middaugh; grandson, Chad Middaugh; great-grandson, Dylan Middaugh; siblings, Joan, Margaret "Mickey", Marian, Elizabeth, Billy, Sally, Dennis, and Danny. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Fairgrove United Methodist Church with Tim Middaugh officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. service.
