Elaine M. Schulze, 88, of Pigeon, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
Elaine was born June 28, 1933 in Sebewaing to the late Clarence and Helen (Stecker) Birsching. She graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1951. She married Arthur Schulze on June 16, 1951 in Sebewaing; he preceded her in death on April 5, 2006.
Elaine was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne where she played organ until her retirement in 2018. Previously she was organist at Cross Lutheran and New Salem Lutheran and sang with the Saginaw Choral Society. She worked at Flowers by MariAnne in Pigeon. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, painting and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Larry of Prescott, Dennis (Mary) of Pigeon, Randall of Pigeon, Jean Cosgrove of Pigeon and Thomas (Tamara) of Pigeon; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; brother Harley (Ruth) Birsching of Sebewaing; and sister-in-law Helen Birsching of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her brothers William and Ronald Birsching.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, April 1st at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne with Pastor Steve Neuman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Pigeon and one hour before the service at the church.
