Eleanor H Dubs, age 81, of Pigeon passed away Wednesday morning, July 6, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
She was born March 5, 1935, in Pigeon to the late August and Eva (Dorsch) Metzger and grew up in the Elkton area. She graduated from Elkton High School in 1953.
On January 22, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Dubs at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Robert passed away May 5, of last year.
Eleanor retired from Pigeon Elementary School, where she was employed as a custodian for many years. She was member Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton and the Ladies Aux of Pigeon VFW Post 2236, where she served as head cook for weddings and banquets. Eleanor enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, cooking and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Lois Diebel of Bay Port, Debbie (Tom) Smith of Freeland and Roger (Connie) Dubs of Pigeon; grandchildren, Shawn (Stacy) Diebel, Chad (Kris) Diebel, Jason (Shannon) Diebel, Jessica (Pat Struble) Smith, Kyle (Madison) Dubs and Kevin Dubs; great grandchildren, Allyson, Jordyn, Bradyn, Kacey, Kaylee, Olivia, Addison, Reese, Garrett and in September, a new great granddaughter; her sister, Dorothy Graf; in-laws, Delores (Ellis) Gardner, Erma (Russ) Hazard, Mike (Connie) Dubs and Judy Eisinger.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Sunday at Champagne Funeral Chapel. Elder Karen Bouverette will officiate with interment in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 PM on Sunday.
