Eleanor I. Moore

Eleanor I Moore of Caro, age 90, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Eleanor was born April 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Valentine and Sophie (Gorecki) Jakubik of Millington. She grew up on a farm with five older brothers and graduated from Millington High School in 1947. Eleanor was a member of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Caro Community Hospital Auxiliary, the Polish American Club and the Watrousville-Caro Historical Society, all in Caro. She was employed three years with Midwest Rotary Maniforms in Caro, twenty-two years with USDA Federal Crop Insurance, and five years with Farmer's Home Administration, retiring in 1989. Eleanor was a past member of the Rocking Eights Square Dance Club of Caro and the National Square Dance Camping Club. She was on a mixed bowling league at Stardust Lanes in Saginaw, and was a member of the Tuscola County Archers Club in Caro, and was very competitive in several archery clubs. Eleanor enjoyed flowers, gardening, playing cards and traveling. She was married to John M Valentine in 1948, then to Edward J. Razmus in 1969, who passed in 1994. Eleanor married LCD Ronald A. Moore USN (ret) on May 22, 2010. In addition to her husband, Ron, she leaves a daughter, Carol Ann Leach of Watrousville; son, Patrick (Donna) Valentine of Dacula, Georgia; grandson, Martin (Chasey) Valentine; granddaughter, Corinne (Philip) Jones; great-granddaughters, Shelby and Vivian Valentine; great-grandsons, Silas and Atticus Jones; all of Georgia. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her five brothers, Bernard Theodore, Edward, Walter and Joseph Jakubik. Funeral services will be held at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
