Eleanor Marie Morris

Eleanor Marie Morris of Caro, age 97, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Brian's House in Essexville. Eleanor was born November 3, 1922 in Elkton, the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle (Clark) Gilbert. She met her husband, John, at A/C Sparkplug in Flint where she was known as "Miss A/C Spark Plug." She also worked at Rochester Aerosol, but most of her life was spent as a homemaker. Eleanor enjoyed volunteering to help others and was pleased to have been voted "best dressed" at the Senior Prom, recently held at the Knights of Columbus hall. Eleanor was a fifty-year member of the Caro Moose Lodge. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Janet Anne Thomas of Caro, Ronald William Morris and wife, Sharon, of Auburn Hills, Cheryl Lynn Morris of Caro; five grandchildren, Tina Marie Thomas, David John Thomas, Kimberly Anne Fields and husband, Mike, Scott William Morris and wife, Melissa, Jessica Lynn Smith; six great-grandchildren, Alecia Smith, Conrad Leupold, Justin Fields, Kaley Fields, Angela Morris, Amanda Morris; one great-great-grandson, Jaxon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John. In keeping with Eleanor's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Inurnment will be at East Dayton Cemetery at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of flowers, plants or cards.
