Eleanor Marie Perdue-Beekman of Mayville, age 93, passed away on December 28, 2023 at United Hospice Service of Marlette. Eleanor was born November 30, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Anna Evelyn (McDermott) Bergin. She graduated from St. Gregory High School in Detroit and went on to work in many different areas, including airport parking attendant, office admission, ending her career as a Grocery Store Demonstrator for over twenty-five years, where everyone knew her and looked forward to seeing her in the many stores she worked. Eleanor was a devoted parishioner of St. Christopher Parish in Mayville, where she loved to go to church and pray. She enjoyed old musicals, old Irish films, lighthouses, and absolutely adored frogs; you knew you were in her room because of all the frog figurines. Eleanor was a mother who gave her children the moon, if you needed anything, she was always right there to help. You could always count on a birthday card in mail covered in stickers and tape – so much tape! Eleanor loved her family dearly, talking and visiting them were the highlights of her days. She was grandma to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.
