Elizabeth "Libby" Helen Treiber

Elizabeth "Libby" H. Treiber, age 61, of Unionville, our loving wife, mother, GG, sister, cousin, friend, educator and mentor, went home to meet her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the comfort of her own home.

Libby was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 19, 1962, to Leland Junior Hartel and Lota Ruth (Little) Hartel. She graduated from Cass City High School in 1980. She married Paul J. Treiber on December 8, 1984 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. She received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her Master's degree in Educational Management from Central Michigan University. She taught 3rd and 4th grades for 20 years and was Principal for 10 years at Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools (USA). After retirement, she returned back to the school and helped with the Title One program and was student co-op coordinator. Libby enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, watching volleyball and softball games. Most of all she loved being a mom and grandma, known to her grandkids as "GiGi".

Libby's life was centered around family, farming and faith. The endless amount of patience she had was evident as she raised her four strong girls. She was very involved in their extracurricular activities and was always their #1 fan.

The farm was a big part of her life as well. She was the person behind the scenes that made sure everything was seamless. Between the countless food deliveries to the field and the never ending rides, she devoted any extra time she had into making sure Paul and the farm were taken care of.

She showed grace in everything she did and everyone she interacted with. She lived life as a follower of God and instilled those values in her children and grandchildren.

She approached each day as an opportunity to learn something new and to make someone's life better. The grandkids will always remember the times at the children's museum and zoo along with the many parks they explored and the cookies they baked.

She will always be our WOW and our GiGi

Libby is survived by her husband of 39 ½ years, Paul; her 4 daughters: Jessica (Kenny) Cox of Unionville, Carly (Tyson) Valentine of Unionville, Mackenzie (Lance) VanHoost of Unionville and Erica (Austin) Wilson of Hebron, Ohio; grandchildren: Lukas, Kora and Jett Cox, Paisley and Briggs Valentine, and Dallas VanHoost; siblings: Sharon Reid, Scott (Molli) Hartel, Sandy (Jim) Schulz, Jeff (Ann) Hartel and Brad (Val) Hartel.

Libby is preceded in death by her parents, Leland Hartel and Lota Hartel.
