Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Muzzi

Elizabeth Marie Muzzi of Caro, formerly of Detroit, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro at the age of 82. Betty was born August 12, 1937 at home in Detroit, the daughter of the late Maria Carmela (Alvaro) Muzzi. She was educated by Catholic schools through graduation and attended Eastern Michigan University and the University of Ontario, eventually earning a Master of Social Work degree. Betty was a lifelong learner, driven by ambition and unafraid of new challenges. She loved the frenzy of Detroit and the culture it offered like museums, plays, and zoos. Betty also enjoyed traveling and cooking. Her beautiful soul and bright smile touched the lives of those she crossed paths with. Left to cherish Betty's memory are four children and their spouses, James & Maneula Sines of Jersey City, New Jersey, Michael Sines of Cass City, Kathleen & Phil Kozar of Caro, Karen & James Varney of Caro; nine grandchildren, Julia, Christopher, Sara and Connor Sines, Ryan & Katelyn Kozar, Heather Kozar, Chelsea Kozar & Tommaso Vissani, Jordan Varney, Richelle Varney; one great-grandson, Desmyne Kruse, and another expected shortly; two brothers and their wives, Joseph Mario & Patricia Muzzi of Roseville, Harold & Anna Muzzi of Roseville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sines; one brother and his wife, Arthur & Audrey Muzzi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
