Elizabeth Muter Schlabach

Elizabeth M. Schlabach, 96, of Elkton, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Elizabeth and her twin brother Kenneth were born April 3, 1922 in Harbor Beach to the late Wilford and Marion (Muter) Coulston.  She graduated from Harbor Beach High School and attended County Normal School.  She married Clyde Schlabach on November 11, 1944 in Harbor Beach; he preceded her in death October 27, 2000.  Elizabeth taught at several Huron County rural schools.  She was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church in Elkton.  She enjoyed time spent baking.

Elizabeth is survived by her children Priscilla Bach of Florida, Mary Lee (James) Popham of Bad Axe, Jeffrey of Pigeon, Randy (Judy) of Saginaw, Rebecca of Florida, Brent of Pigeon, Elizabeth (Redford) Maust of Indiana and Robert of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by grandchildren Taera and Travis, and siblings Ila, Wilfred, Jeanette, Robert and twin brother Kenneth.

Private burial was held at Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Ean Green officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Community Wesleyan Church.  Champagne Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
