Elizabeth L. Symons, age 88, died Wednesday morning, April 9, at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care, Pigeon.
She was born March 15, 1920 in Saginaw to the late Edward and Bertha (Harbron) Miller.
On September 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Edward C. Symons at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saginaw.
She and Ed lived in Saginaw until the early sixties when the bought the Sebewaing Hotel. They operated it for almost ten years before selling and moving back to Saginaw. In 1980, they retired and moved to Caseville and later to Pigeon. Edward preceded her in death January 6, 1999.
Elizabeth was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, she enjoyed many hobbies and talents including sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking, watching birds and gardening both flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are three children, James Symons of Bay City, Patricia (Roger) Elston and Joanne (Terry) Shetler both of Pigeon; ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two sisters, Evelyn Lanning of Pigeon and Betty Lashbrook of Sun City Center, FL.
Preceding her in death was a son, Charles E. Symons; a brother, Edward Miller; her sister, Doris Damron and two infant brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, April 12 at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon.
The family will receive friends after 1:00 PM at the church.
