Ella Mae Hollinshead, age 94, of lifelong Elkton passed away Sunday morning, February 12, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
She was born May 4, 1922, in Caseville to the late Russell and Ella Rose (Smith) Grigg.
On June 27, 1942, she was united in marriage to George “Bud” Hollinshead at the Methodist parsonage in Elkton. Bud preceded her in death March 5, 1962.
Ella Mae lived in Elkton most of her life and was employed as a cook for EPBP School for over 17 years. She enjoyed crocheting; anything from large afghans to small Christmas ornaments, and especially enjoyed teaching the craft to her grand and great grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hollinshead of Cass City; five grandchildren, Ronda (Richard) Jeffrey of Deford, Rick (Paula) Bolton of Cass City, Dan (Jody) Bolton of Kalkaska, Jimmy (Shannon) Hollinshead and Eber (Amy) Hollinshead both of Cass City; great grandchildren, Chad, Richie (Amy), Alex, Ricky, Kayla, Amanda, Zachary, Caitlin, Ashley (Brian), April and Madison; great great grandchildren, Case, Keith and Dixie; three sisters, Ilene Young of Elkton, June Nichol of Wilmot and Jean Kuhn of Marion, OH.
Preceding her in death were her son James Hollinshead; siblings, Annabelle Wiederhold, Lucille Schember, Dorothy Bouverette, Bob, Loren, Jeff, Leonard, Carl and Shirley Grigg.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. Ean Green, pastor of the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
