Ella Louise Wieand Brantner Shaw

Ella Louise Wieand Brantner Shaw of Traverse City, age 87, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Medilodge of Traverse City. She was born on July 1, 1938, in Grand Rapids, to the late Lowella Bliss and Ward E. Wieand Brantner.

She married Charles Henry Shaw on September 3, 1958, in Ithaca. They cherished sixty-three years together before Charles passed on June 14, 2022.

One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her Certified Nursing Assisted certification later in life. She dedicated herself to caring for her residents with compassion and took great pride in her work. She cherished her family, loved fishing and the outdoors, and enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles. Rarely sitting still, she approached life with enthusiasm and determination. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Ella’s memory are her children, Jennie (Bill) Harmon, George Shaw, Julie (Barry) Wallace, Gloria (Scott) Case, Sharon-Jolean Bailey, and Charles (Lesa) Shaw; twenty-three grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, she is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Betty Jean Shaw and Timothy William Harmon; and son-in-law, Wiliam Robert Harmon.

In accordance with Ella’s wishes cremation is to take place and no services are planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Brandy Harmon.
