Elma M. Bachor, 100, of Caseville, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon having recently suffered a stroke.
Elma was born November 15, 1921 in Trout Creek, Michigan (UP) to the late Herman and Anna Kangas, who were both immigrants from Finland. She graduated valedictorian from Trout Creek High School and attended college. She married Joseph R. Bachor during World War II and he died in 1985.
Elma retired as clerk from the Southfield Post Office. After retiring in 1985 she moved to Caseville. She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, watching the news, classical music, playing cards and gardening.
Elma is survived by her children William (Yolanda) of Mexico, Joanne (Edward) Burghardt of Sears, Michigan and Lois Bachor of Caseville; grandchildren Matthew Wort, Andrew (Erin) Wort, Joseph Crudo and Joseph Burghardt; and great-grandchildren Morgan and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her son James and all six of her siblings.
A memorial luncheon will be 1:00pm Sunday, July 17th at the Caseville Eagles Club, 7107 East Park Street, Caseville, MI 48725. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
