Elmer "Chris" Christian, age 86, of Unionville, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.
Elmer was born May 19, 1929, to the late Theodore and Susanna (Koreck) Christian. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant on April 25, 1951. He married Catherine E. Gaeth on October 1, 1970, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Scheck officiating the ceremony. He worked for General Motors Powertrain for 27 years as a Quality Assurance Clerk. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, wintering in Arizona, walking, yard work, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Catherine; siblings: Eleanor Marker of Unionville, Theodore Christian, II of Freeland, and Marjorie Shapow of Dewitt; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral mass will be Monday, June 15, 2015, at Our Lady of Consolata (Holy Family Catholic Church) in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Memorial donations may be given to ACW Ambulance, Our Lady of Consolata Holy Family Women's Circle, or family choice.
