Elmer J. Harder "Flash", age 84 of Bay Port, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Scheurer Hospital emergency room.
Born in Bay Port on January 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Weaver and Luella Harder. On February 10, 1968 he was united in marriage to Velma Darlene Edsall in Bay Port, and she survives him.
Elmer retired from working as a commercial fisherman and then worked for more than 30 years at the stone quarry, retiring when he was over 70 years old. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and riding his moped, and was friends with just about everyone in Bay Port. He loved birds and making yard ornament windmills.
In addition to his wife Darlene, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Pastor Wayne Keim officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
