Elnora Jane Brock

Elnora Jane Brock of Caro, age 89, passed away to be with the Lord on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community with her daughters by her side. Elnora was born February 24, 1930 in Juniata Township, the daughter of the late Richard and Maud (Frizzle) Ackerman. She was united in marriage with Carl Lloyd Brock on September 11, 1948. The couple celebrated more than sixty-seven years of marriage prior to Carl's death on August 10, 2016. Elnora was employed at the Caro Regional Center from 1951 to 1978. She also worked at Caro Community Hospital in the dietary department for ten years. She was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church and the WUMW. Elnora enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, puzzles, birdwatching, and making afghans and baby sweaters for family and friends. She took special pride in her daughters and their families. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and their spouses, Carol & Bill Wylie of Pinckney, Kim Calabro of Rohnert Park, California, Melody & Darril Gettel of Lewisburg, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Heather & Scott Hope, Ryan & Mary Parker, Mac & Laura Wylie, Tracy Wylie and Andy Black, Antonino & Layla Calabro, Lela & Taylor Brandon, Santino & Gia Calabro, and Mike Gettel; seventeen great-grandchildren, Eden and Elliot Hope, Marissa and Austin Ohman, Jack Wylie, Miles, Shane and Wesley Black, Jazmin and Jade Ward, Chester, Phoenix, and Ariona Calabro, Henry and Thomas Brandon, Adryen and Baylei Calabro; sister, Margaret Schemm; two sisters-in-law, Wyliss and Alice Ackerman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Elnora was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Brock in 1964; one granddaughter, Michelle Jackman in 2009; and two sisters and three brothers, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Leland, Glen and William. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Watrousville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. William Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Watrousville United Methodist Church or the Tuscola County Medical Care Community Forget-Me-Nots.
