Eloise Early

Eloise Early of Caro, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born March 27, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of the late Morton and Helen (Austin) Myers, and moved to Wisner as a young lady and attended school in Unionville. In 1947, the former Eloise Myers married Henry Foss, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1997. Eloise has traveled through all of the continental United States, moving from Michigan to Ketchikan, Alaska, Camby, Oregon, Wisner, and finally to Caro in 2002. During her working life, she owned apartment buildings in Alaska and was in the hospitality industry, owning a bar/restaurant in Oregon, and for fifteen years working as a bartender at the Caro Moose Lodge until her retirement. In addition to traveling, Eloise loved cooking, flower gardening, and working in her yard. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Eloise is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Valeria & Paul Smith of Lapeer; a daughter-in-law, Linda Foss of Hillman; nine grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Samu; a son, Randall Roy Foss; a grandson, Scott Samu; and eight siblings, Devera Gokey, Marion Dennis, Norene Maciag, Carl Myers, Earl Myers, Geraldine Perkins and Sherrill Reaver. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Chris Taylor facilitating. In keeping with Eloise's wishes, cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. The Women of the Moose will present a service of remembrance on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
