Elsa E. Volz

Elsa E. Volz, age 72, of Sebewaing, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at her home. She was born in Sebewaing to the late Paul and Laura (Schulz) Deeg. She married Allen Volz, Sr. April 18, 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bach. She worked on 2 family farms until the passing away of her husband, Allen, on June 30, 1981. She also worked as a nursing assistant at Courtney Manor for 16 years. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, flowers, and watching Tiger's baseball on TV.

She is survived by her children: Allen, Jr. of Sebewaing, Eileen (George) Norcross of Deford, Helen Keyser of bad Axe, Steven of Sebewaing, and warren (Raylene) of Owendale. Proud grandmother of Allen Volz, III, Steven Volz, Benjamin Kayser, Elisa Norcross, Henry Volz, Allison Norcross, Hannah Volz, and Evan Volz. Dearest sister of Harold Deeg, Selma Schulz, Walter Deeg, the late Donald Deeg, the late Marjorie Fifield, Shirley Leiterman, Gerald Deeg, and Robert Deeg. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation Tuesday, August 15, 2011 from 3-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church – Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Church – Kilmanagh, in Sebewaing.
