Elsie L. Posade, age 86, of Elkton died Friday evening, January 10, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
She was born June 24, 1916 in Detroit to the late Emanuel and Lydia (Stecker) Forster and moved with her family to Huron County in her teens.
On May 14, 1932, she was united in marriage to Berthold Posade at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Berne. They lived all of their married life in Oliver Twp. where they raised three children and farmed the family farm together. Bert preceded her in death June 12, 1975. Elsie was also a caregiver to her mother-in-law, Katarina Posade until her death.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elkton, where she was very active in the choir and the ladies organization. She always enjoyed the soil through her gardening of flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are three children, Ruth Walsh and Ralph (Lucille) Posade both of Elkton and Sharon Nehring of Grant Twp.; Ten grandchildren, Patti, Tim, Kathleen, Steve, Lisa, Tracey, Mark, Dave, Lori and Julie and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her two brothers, Walter (Carol) Foster and Roger (Chris) Forster and her sister, Marilyn (Bill) Chappel all of Elkton. Preceding her in death are three brothers, Gustav (Violet), Rudy (Arleta) and Otto (Betty) Forster and a sister, Edna Forster.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Elton Bickel, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Monday and at the church after 10 AM Tuesday.
