Emily F. LaFontaine of Caseville passed away Friday, September 16, at the age of 71 at her home while under hospice care.
She was born February 20, 1945 in Detroit to the late Frank and Emily (Corcoran) LaFontaine and came to Caseville in 1959.
Emily was not only a 1963 graduate of Caseville Pubic Schools, but was employed there for 30 years, retiring in 2010.
She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary. She was an avid euchre player, she enjoyed fishing, bird watching and hunting for morels and puff balls in the spring, but mostly loved being with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are five children, Charles (Michele) Warren of Eugene, Oregon, May (Steve Parker) Alfano of Saginaw, Bruce Warren of Caseville, Emily (Carl) Witherspoon of Caseville and Deborah (Richard) Hopkins of Caseville; her grandchildren, Julie (Geordan) Miller, David and Christopher Alfano, Jennifer (Cory Berens) Woolford, Brianna Jarson, Emma, Audrey, Logan Hopkins, and Charles Witherspoon, her brother, Richard (Connie Weishuhn) LaFontaine of Midland; two sisters, Paulette Cummins of Caseville and Ruth Ann (Marvin) Cross of Connecticut.
There will be no public visitation or service at this time as per her wishes, a memorial service is being planned for, at a later date. Memorial gifts may be given to the family in care of Bruce Warren, 8689 Williams Court, Pigeon, MI 48755.
