Emily Liska

Emily M. Liska, age 96, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon.

Emily was born February 24, 1917 in Detroit to the late Thomas and Marie (Svoboda) Havlick. She married George Liska September 21, 1935 in Detroit. He preceded her in death November 7, 1987.

Emily enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, attending polka dances, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She worked for a time doing house keeping along the shoreline. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face.

Emily is survived by her children: Glenn (Silvana) Liska of Elk Grove, California, Allan (Elizabeth) Liska of Pigeon, Anthony Liska of Caseville, and Donn Liska of Caseville; grandchildren: Albert, Melissa, Aaron and Jason; one brother, Edward (Peggy) Havlick; great-grandchildren: Evan, Colin, Michela and Giordano.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Marie Havlick; her husband, George Liska; her brother, William Havlick; and a grandson, Thomas Liska.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial of her cremains will take place at a later date at the Caseville Township Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon, Michigan.
