Emily Schulz

Emily G. Schulz, age 91 years, of Caro, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on August 28, 1916 in Saginaw to the late John and Alice (Johnson) Kouts. Emily was a graduate of Saginaw High School. The former Emily Kouts married Melvin Schulz in Saginaw and he preceded her in death in 1984. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, she worked for Bangor Township on elections during the time she lived in Bay City, where she was a charter member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Her greatest love was her family, and she also enjoyed bingo, bowling and playing cards. She fulfilled her life here with honor, dignity, love and a large dose of Irish humor. She is survived by her three children, Shellie (Bill) MacNicol of Caro, Barbara Schulz of Caro and Jeffrey (Weijing) Schulz of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren; Sarah Hall of Caro, Joshua MacNicol of Caro, Jarrod (Heather) MacNicol of Alpena, Heather Koczenasz and Tim Redifer of Pontiac, Jason (Trish) Koczenasz of Alpena, Max and Jack Schultz of Chicago, NanNan “Lauren” Rou of Chicago, Illinois; seven great-grandchildren; Zachary, Jacob, Ian, Ivy, Alex, Tiffani and Sierra; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Private family services will be held. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Home and Hospice Advantage of Cass City or the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
