Emma Gertrude Zarnke, age 104, of Sebewaing, passed away Wednesday, February 04, 2015, at Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon.
Emma was born February 27, 1910 in Sebewaing to the late Karl and Minna (Barth) Zarnke. She graduated from Sebewaing High School. Emma worked at Sanders Candy Company in Detroit for many years and then moved back to Sebewaing and worked for Producer's Dairy until she retired. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, member of the Mary Martha Guild, and enjoyed playing the piano.
Emma is survived by nieces: Virginia Hoagg of Sebewaing, Mildred Dunn of Pigeon, Patricia Martins of North Carolina, Shirley Grotheer of California, Charline Gremel of Sebewaing and Dianne Schuette of Pigeon; nephew, Darrell Gotham of Bay Port.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Minna Zarnke; brothers: Herman and Ervin Zarnke; Sisters: Hannah Gotham, Edna Duckett, Erna Geiger, Clara Loeffler, Melita Zarnke and Marka Zarnke; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 1pm.
Burial will take place privately at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
