I
Eric was a dedicated worker for over 20 years for his family's business, Lee's Landscaping/Lee's Premium Greens. His random humor and quirkiness brought joy and laughter to all he came to know, including his many loyal customers, family members and friends. Included in this humor were his many exaggerated impressions of his dad, Lee, and his unending belief that the Detroit Lions would someday win the Super Bowl. Along with the Lions, Eric was also a dedicated Michigan State fan.
Following his initial diagnosis in 2010, Eric became fascinated in his own personal health & fitness. He was also an intense athletic competitor, being an avid tennis and table-tennis player where he always competed for the win with his two sisters and his dad. As an NRA member, he also enjoyed doing target practice with his 'bros.' Eric attended and supported Elkton Missionary Church.
He is survived by his father, Leland "Lee" and mother Jeanne; sisters Julee (Jordan) Meyersieck and Rachel (Josh) Stewart; niece Amalee; nephew Jed; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his furry friend Lexie. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Blanchard and Verda (Armstrong) Bixler and Lawrence and Iva (Gunden) Swartzendruber; and his uncle Bruce Bixler;.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Elkton Missionary Church, with Pastor Reggie Courliss officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
