Erlind Lewis Nordstrom

Erlind Lewis Nordstrom of Caro, age 68, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the St. Francis Skilled Nursing Facility in Saginaw, losing his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Erlind was born March 9, 1951 in Saginaw, the son of the late Carl and Mary (Yastramb) Nordstrom and graduated from Millington High School with the Class of 1969. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Central Michigan University. Erlind was employed as the Adult and Alternative Education Director for Caro Community Schools from 1975-2004. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish in the upper part of lower Michigan as well as the upper peninsula. He loved to photograph Michigan's wildlife and waterfalls and had some of his photographs published. He also taught hunter safety courses in Tuscola County for several years. He married Doris "Charlie" Gettel on October 13, 1978 and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1981. He then married JoAnn Emeott on August 19, 1983, and she survives. In addition to his loving wife, JoAnn, he leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wonderful sons and their wives, Joshua (Rebecca) Nordstrom and Kyle (Jordyn) Nordstrom of Caro; his adorable grandchildren, Tyson, Madyson and Sloan of Caro; two sisters, Janice Nordstrom and Melissa (John) Males; his mother-in-law, Janet Emeott and father-in-law, Donald Emeott, Sr.; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and special friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, Erlind was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kenzie Lynn; and a special niece, Kristen Carl. Per Erlind's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 910 West Frank Street, Caro, MI. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Covenant VNA Hospice, St. Christopher Parish, the Caro Alternative Education program, or Food for the Poor.
