Erma E. Maust

Erma E. Maust, 87, of Bay Port passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Erma was born May 29, 1933 in Au Gres to the late Daniel and Alma (Handrich) Gingerich. She married Glenn Maust August 27, 1952 at Riverside Mennonite Church in Au Gres. She enjoyed teaching countless children about farm animals and life on a farm through field trips to her family farm. She was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church where she nurtured children’s faith through creative and interactive activities. She was a published writer and photographer.

Erma is survived by her husband Glenn; children Calvin (Gladys) of Bay Port, Duane (Elaine) of Mississippi, Clifford (Marie) of Bay Port, Brent (Emily) of Bay Port, Dan (Tina) of Caro, Margo (Beryl) Jantzi of Virginia, Ben (Beth) of Bay Port and Brian (Carol) of Unionville; grandchildren Carrie, Christopher, Jesse, Christine, Nathan, Jason, Jonathan, David, Emma, Aaron, Jacob, Ethan, Rose, Melissa, Jordan, Kaylee, Troy, Kyle and Adam; great-grandchildren Veronica, Lydia, Isaac, Lucas, Caleb, Levi, Silas, Hudson, and Whitley; brother Fred (Sandra) Gingerich of Au Gres. She was preceded in death by her sister Velma Schrock.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, April 24th at Pigeon River Mennonite Church with Rev. David Mauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-8 Friday at the Pigeon River Mennonite Church on Geiger Road.

Memorials may be made to Pigeon River Mennonite Church to fund the ladies sewing.
