Erma Pratt Stellmacher, age 88, of Drummond Island formerly of Elkton died Tuesday morning, March 18, at War Memorial Hospital, Sault Ste Marie.
She was born March 31, 1914 in Saskatchewan Canada to the late John and Shara (Meuma) Atkinson. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to a farm in Grant Twp. She grew up on that farm and was courted by the boy next door Josiah “Bill” Pratt. They were married in 1932 and in 1942 they had a son, Jim. Bill preceded her in death in 1955. On September 2, 1968 she was united in marriage to Frank Stellmacher in Flint. He also preceded her in death, August 9; 1988.Erma lived in Elkton until 1998 until when she moved to Drummond Island to be nearer her family.
Erma was a member of the Elkton Missionary Church.
Surviving are her son, Jim Pratt and his wife, Connie of Drummond Island; three granddaughters, Janice Dohring, Jane (Kevin) Scherret and JoAnn (Kurt) Kern; 13 great grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew, Kevin Jr., Tyler, Michael, Amanda, Courtney, Elizabeth, Jamie, Ashley, Breanna, Tiffany and Katelynn; three sisters, Jenny Stokes of Goodrich, Esther Rulhruff of Arlington, WA and Lucille Conrad of Columbus, OH. and a brother, George Atkinson.
Her brother Frank preceded her in death.
Funeral services will conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, March 22, at the Elkton Missionary Church. Rev. Reggie Courliss, Pastor will officiate with burial in Elkland Twp. Cemetery, Cass City.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, from 4 to 9 PM Friday and at the church after 10 AM Saturday.
Memorials may be given to the church.
