Erminia Monville of Akron, age 86, passed away on the morning of Friday, April 28, 2023 at her daughter's home, with her family by her side. Erminia was born November 11, 1936 in Floresville, Texas, the daughter of the late Antonio and Geronima (Martinez) Huizar. She graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1954. Erminia went on to work at General Cable in Cass City and then returned to school to receive her Bachelor of Science and Education from Saginaw Valley State University. She was a teacher's aide at Akron-Fairgrove schools for four years and then went on to teach at USA Schools in Sebewaing for eleven years. On August 20, 1955, Erminia married the love of her life, Daniel Monville, Sr. Their marriage was blessed with over sixty-five years, four beautiful children, and countless memories. Sadly, Dan preceded her in death on July 10, 2020. Erminia and Dan enjoyed going for motorcycle rides, taking trips to the casino, and boy could they dance! She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church, was on the Altar Society at St. Jude Church in Fairgrove, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout life, Erminia loved to travel with her family and husband, reaching every continental U.S. state. Above all else, being with her family was her greatest joy. Erminia leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters and their spouses, Teresa & David Craig of Holland, Tina & Bruce Turner of Akron, and Toni & Eric Russel of Akron; her son, Daniel Monville, Jr. of St. Helen & Sue Wiese; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Erminia was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Donna Monville; and brothers, Vincent Huizar, Edward Huizar, Tony Huizar, and Jerome Huizar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro. Rev. Christopher Coman will officiate with burial at Demorest Cemetery following the luncheon. Erminia's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro, and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. A Vigil for Erminia will be held at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with Rev. Jose Maria Cabrera presiding, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Erminia's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Scleroderma Research or St. Christopher Parish.
