Ermythe F. Seley, age 84, of Elkton died Thursday afternoon, November 27, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
She was born May 31, 1919, in Oliver Twp., at the home of her parents, the late Leroy and Margaret (Knechtel) Ackerman.
On June 3, 1939 she was united in marriage to Leonard J. Seley at the home of her parents in Elkton. He preceded her in death March 19, 1996.
Ermythe was a lifetime member of the Elkton United Methodist Church. She was choir director for the children and youth, was president of United Methodist Women’s Organization, and organist and soloist. Ermythe was also a member of the Elkton Women’s Civic Club and the Elkton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her four children, Sandy Zeitler of Elkton, Connie (Paul) Geiger of Jackson, Jim Seley of Elkton, Becky (Gary) Mohr of Caro; ten grandchildren, Kristine Krohn, Jill (Brian) Gordon, Bradley Krohn, Todd (Kim) Geiger, Troy (Carole) Geiger, Tonya (Gary) Baxter, Chad (Michelle) Seley, Dustin Seley, Kariann (Greg) Brabec, Shannon Mohr and his fiancé, Susan Godard; eight great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Zachary Gordon, Kaitlyn Geiger, Lauren and Cameron Geiger, Noah Baxter, Hunter and Kayla Seley; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Ackerman. Preceding her in death were her brother, George Ackerman and a son-in-law, Bernie Zeitler.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday November 29, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Peter Crawford, pastor will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Memorials may be made to: Oliver Twp. Fire Department, Elkton United Methodist Church or the Bible Miniature Golf Project at Bay Shore Camp. Visitation will take place Friday, November 28 from 2 until 9 PM at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Words of condolence can be made on line at www.CFCelkton.com.
