Ernest Emil Sbresny, Jr.

Ernest E. Sbresny, Jr. , age 84, of Sebewaing, passed away under the care of hospice at Brian's House in Essexville.

Ernest was born in Gagetown on July 2, 1938, to Ernest and Irma (Kaeding) Sbresny, Sr. He graduated from Owendale High School in 1956. After high school he joined the United State Army from 1958-1959 and then Army Reserves for four years. On December 11, 1965, he married Arlene M. Baur at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He helped out on the family farm for many years, worked at Evans Products in Gagetown until they closed and then for Moore Motor Sales in Caro. He enjoyed traveling, watching numerous sports teams and classic automobiles.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Arlene; son, Ernest Sbresny, III of Sebewaing; sisters: Diane (Stanford) Draher, Geraldine (Richard) Leidlein and Janice (Rev. William) Dobbs; sister-in-law, Ruth Elston; brother-in-law, Elson Baur; and many nieces and nephews.

Ernest is preceded in death by his brother, David Sbresny and brother-in-law, Gerald Elston.

Visitation will be Monday, August 29, 2022 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 4-7pm.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation at the church will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
