Ervin D. Thompson, age 90, of Pigeon died Saturday morning, December 9, at Scheurer Hospital, Long Term Care, Pigeon.
He was born December 31, 1915, in Oliver Twp. at the home of his parents the late David and Anna (Heck) Thompson.
On October 8, 1941, he was inducted into the US Army and served in Europe and the battles of Normandy, Rhineland and Ardennes during WW II.
He was united in marriage to Ida M. Renn, November 10, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton.
They moved to the Detroit area shortly after his discharge, and later to Roseville where they lived and raised their family, moving back to Huron County in 1998. He is former member of Bethleham Lutheran Church, Roseville and a current member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elkton. Ida preceded him in death February 5, 2002.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Thompson of Roseville, Douglas (Karen) Thompson of East Pointe and Jeffrey Thompson of Beverly Hills; four sisters, Mary Hazard of Bad Axe, Zelma (Herman) Baur of Souletown, Ruth Gilbert of Owendale and Bessie (Jim) Champagne of Elkton and a brother, Loren Thompson of Florida.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Raymond, Robert and Henry Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Elton Bickel, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the church after 10:00 AM Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the church.
