Esther May Bedford

Esther May Bedford, 86, of Pigeon, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Esther was born May 8, 1934 in Brookfield Twp to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Neidrich) Block. She graduated from Owendale High School in 1953. On December 11, 1954 she married Robert M. Bedford at the Kilmanagh E.U.B. Church. In 1971 she moved to Marion, Indiana and worked as a dietician for Marion Community Schools (12 years) and Lakeview Christian Schools (13 years) before returning to Huron County in 1996. She was a member of Pigeon River Mennonite Church. She enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and traveling by motor home.

Esther is survived by her husband Robert; daughters Darlene Hipsher of California and Diane (Vince) Laney of Elkton; grandchildren Elizabeth, Kristopher and Dylan; brother Alfred Block and sister Alice Gilbert; and brother-in-law Glenn. She was preceded in death by her sister Ethel Craig.

Interment will be in Pigeon River Mennonite Cemetery. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
