Esther Graham

Esther Graham, age 88 years, of Caro, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville. She was born on September 30, 1918 in Kingston. After graduation from Kingston High School, Esther attended and graduated from Hurley Hospitals Nursing program and became a Registered Nurse. On October 21, 1940 the former Esther Everett married Henderson Graham at her parents home in Kingston. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2002. With the exception of a short time working as a RN at the old Cass City Hospital, she was a homemaker and mother. Esthers outside interests revolved around church; the Methodist Church in Tawas and the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church in Caro, where she taught Sunday school. She was active with her husband in the Gideons and a member OT the auxiliary. In 1973, the Grahams moved to Tawas and wintered in Florida until returning to Caro in 1998. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Eleanor) Graham of Springhill, Florida and Paul Graham of Caro; five grandchildren, Sharon Graham of Caro and Paul (Kendrid) Graham of Panama City, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Matt Graham and Mel Graham at home; one sister, Lois (Dale) Birchard of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Donna Everett of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Graham; a brother, Carlyle Everett; a sister, Mildred Parrott; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law. A memorial service will be held at the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Whipple officiating. Memorials may be made to Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church or the Gideons.
