Esther Pobanz Robinette

Esther Pobanz Robinette, 98, of Lake Township, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at Country Gardens in Pigeon.

Esther was born November 16, 1914 in Millington to the late William and Mary (Haag) Hoffman and grew up in Detroit. On February 14, 1935 she married Raymond Pobanz; he preceded her in death in 1982. After Raymond’s death she married Carl Robinette on May 31, 1986; he preceded her in death in 2003.

She moved to Lake Township in 1969 when Raymond retired. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Kinde. Esther enjoyed company and entertaining, card playing and spending winters in Bradenton, Florida. She moved to Country Gardens in 2009.

She is survived by her children Shirley (Luke) Racioppa of Arlington, Texas, Dorothy (Louis) Colletta of Port Austin and Jerry (Sandy) Pobanz of Port Austin; step-children Clifford (Marlene) Robinette of Fremont, Ohio and Barbara Dinsmore of Richland; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 3rd at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Kinde, with Rev. Larry Loree officiating.

Visitation will be 1 to 7 pm Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to the service Monday at church.

Memorials may be made in memory of Esther to her church or hospice.
