Ethel J. Alexander age 93, lifelong resident of Elkton, died Friday morning, September 16, at Huron County Medical Care facility, Bad Axe.

She was born September 12, 1918 in Oliver Twp. to the late William and LaReatha (Stout) Abbe.
On March 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lester V. Alexander in Toledo, OH and made their home in Elkton. Lester preceded her in death March 3, 1992.

Ethel was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a past member of the Elkton Women’s Civic Club. She enjoyed crafts, playing scrabble and sewing, making most of her own clothes. She especially loved being a grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter, Marge Koster Dahringer of Howell and her children, Kelly (David) Hunsanger of Bad Axe and Jennifer (Glenn) Beal of Howell; great grandchildren, Scott and Brianna Hunsanger and Courtney Beal; her son, Robert Alexander of Marian, IN and his family, David (Meg) Alexander of Colorado, Jack (Kim) Alexander of Indiana, Cathy (Rick) Dodson of Louisiana and their daughter, Cindy(John) Brinson of Colorado, Patty Hall of Indiana; eleven great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. Preceding her in death were 2 siblings, Vera Cook and Kenneth Abbe.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. Craig Pillow, pastor of the Elkton United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in Chandler Twp. Cemetery.
Friend may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 PM Sunday and after 10 AM Monday.
