Eugene R. Cieslinski

Eugene R. Cieslinski age 73, of Caseville died Wednesday evening, May 30, at his winter home in Port Charlotte, FL while under hospice care.
He was born January 18, 1934, in Bay City to the late Anthony and Theresa (Musialowski) Cieslinski.
On June 2, 1951, he was united in marriage to Joan D. Cichocki at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Bay City.
Gene lived in the Bay City area and was employed as a maintenance supervisor with General Motors. In 1968, they moved to Caseville with their family. He then started Cieslinski & Sons Trucking in 1975 and retired from GM in 1979.Gene operated the trucking business until retiring in 1988. As a couple they enjoyed traveling the country by motor home and in 1983, they started spending their winters in Florida. Joan passed away on November 23, 1990. Several years later, he met and married Barbara Ann (Musselman) Chiotti, on July 18, 1992 in Bay Port. They continued traveling in the motor home he built.
Gene spent a lot of his free time hunting, fishing and boating both here and in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; his children, Diane (Keith) Wiechert of Caseville, Don (Ruth) Cieslinski of Bad Axe, Linda Cieslinski of Caseville and Dale Cieslinski of Saginaw; his grandchildren, Kim, James, Carrie, Kelly, Kalie, Nicki, Chris and a great granddaughter, Emily. Also surviving five step children, Marty (Margaret) Chiotti of Bullhead City, AZ, Randy (Beth) Chiotti of San Diego, CA, Ken (Lisa) Chiotti of Tulsa, OK, Rick Chiotti of San Diego, CA and Julie Chiotti (Dave) of Owendale; step grandchildren, Alexandra, Randal, Rusty and Dallas; two brothers, Ronald (Debbie) Cieslinski of Fort Pierce, FL and Tom (Rose) Cieslinski of Houghton Lake; his sister-in-law, Donna Hanson of Bad Axe and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his sister, Delores Sleeper and his brother, John Cieslinski.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, at St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor will officiate.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville from 2 to 9 PM Monday and after 9:30 AM Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to the Hospice or the Kidney Foundation.
