Eugenia Zlotkowski, 92, of Caseville, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
Eugenia was born January 14, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Saturnin and Kamila (Zaremba) Niemyjski. She moved to Poland as a child. On May 2, 1942 she married Lucian Zlotkowski in Poland. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She and her family moved to the US in April 1959, settling in Hamtramck. She moved to Caseville in 2003 to be near her son. She was very active in church activities at Our Lady Help of Christians in Detroit, she would work in the kitchen, member of the Rosary Sodality, and help wherever she could. She was devoted to her faith and family.
Surviving are her son Stefan of Caseville and daughter Maria (John) Kontak of Washington, DC; grandchildren Christina (Robert) Nader and Stephany (Steven) Wangen; great-grandchildren Stephen, Reece and Cade; brother Zygmunt (Irene) Niemyjski of Sterling Heights and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Donna Zlotkowski in 2009.
A funeral mass will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 28th at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a rosary at 7pm Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Roch Catholic Church.
