Evelyn P. Apple

Evelyn P. Apple of Caro, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Vadavilla Adult Foster Care Home in Unionville, following a lingering illness. She was born June 6, 1923 in Liberty, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Junius and Nellie (Smith) Pressley. The former Evelyn Pressley was united in marriage with Herman Apple on August 15, 1940 in Clemson, South Carolina, and he preceded her in death in August of 1960. Evelyn was a member of Easley First Baptist Church in Easley, South Carolina. She loved doing crossword puzzles, doing at least one puzzle per day, and enjoyed watching the Olympics, golf and NASCAR. Throughout her life, she never met a stranger, and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She lived every day knowing that God was her refuge and strength and continually put her trust in Him. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Larson of Caro; daughter-in-law, Nan Apple of Newnan, Georgia; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Jack & Doris Pressley of Athens, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Judy Ragsdale and Ronald Apple; and two brothers, Heyward and Bill Pressley. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A remembrance service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will be at the Jenkinsburg Cemetery in Jenkinsburg, Georgia.
