Evelyn Haley, age 64 years, of Caro, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born on November 11, 1942 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Gerald and Ethel (Skinner) Spencer. Her family moved to Cass City when she was only a child, and then on to Caro in the 1980s. Evelyn was a homemaker and mother, who loved dogs, bingo, horses and painting ceramics. She is survived by her three children and their father, James Haley, Sr., Charlene (James) Rowe of Caro, Lori (James) Michalski of Caro, Robert (Mary) Haley of Deford; eight grandchildren, Timothy Sherman, Michael, Aaron and Brian Michalski, Justin Rowe, Brenda, Robert and Dee Dee Haley; her siblings, Edward (Glenna) Spencer of Hillman, Jenny Vargo of Caro, Richard (Sharon) Spencer of Caro, Joe (Carol) Spencer of Vassar, Judy (Richard) Knight of Shay Lake; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Haley, Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Delilah and Donald Little; two sisters, Rosemary Mills and Pearl Spencer; four brothers, Ernest, Gerald and James Spencer and Charles Skinner; sister-in-law, Juanita Spencer. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Chris Taylor facilitating. In accordance with Evelyns wishes, cremation will take place following the service with burial in Novesta Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Evelyn Haley family discretionary fund, c/o Lori Michalski, 140 Third Street, Caro, MI 48723.
