Evelyn June Protzman

Evelyn June Protzman, 84, of Caseville, died July 19, 2017 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Evelyn was born September 21, 1932 in Flint to the late John and Charlotte (Sutkay) Look. She was a 1950 graduate of Unionville High School. On August 19, 1950 she married Bruce D. Protzman at Hayes United Methodist Church. Together with her husband she worked on the family’s dairy farm. She was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church, Caseville American Legion Auxiliary and former member of Tip of the Thumb Leisure ministries. She was proud of her grandchildren, always willing to talk about her family and life.

She is survived by her husband Bruce; daughter Lynn (Al) Retlewski of Cadillac and son Gary (Deann) Protzman of Caseville; grandchildren Bonnie and Greg (Kathy) Retlewski, Evie (Jack) Kamphouse, Nick and Kyle (Katie) Protzman and Krista (Nick) Leipprandt; and brother David (Linda) Holzworth of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Adeline, Ula, Marian, Evelyn, Darold, Clayton and Vera.

Funeral services will be at Noon Monday, July 24th at Hayes United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.

Visitation will be 2-7 Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Memorials may be made to the Hayes United Methodist Church.
