Everett J. Karl age 51 of Grant Twp., died Friday evening May 6, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon with his family at his side.
He was born June 23, 1959 in Fort Benning, GA to Howard and Allie (Smith) Karl. Being in a military family, Everett grew up around the world, living in Georgia, Germany, Panama, Kansas and back to Georgia where he graduated from Newnan High School in 1978. That year, he moved to Pigeon with his family and started a job at Huron Castings for a couple of years. He then went on to Brighton Metal in Caseville until it closed. He worked with Mark Carr in masonary for a time until taking a position with Axly Tool and Bushing in Bad Axe. Everett was with them for over 15 years and was laid off two years ago. In November of last year, he started with L. J. Gascho Furniture and had to leave there in January for health reasons.
On August 24, 1991, he was united in marriage to Rana M. Ross at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton.
Everett was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church and a very active member of the Elkton Lions Club. He was a traveler and enjoyed camping having been in all of the eastern states. Everett loved country music and the oldies and loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Rana; his parents, Howard and Allie Karl of Pigeon; three brothers, Eddie (Lisa) Karl of Caseville, Bob (Shelly) Karl of Unionville and Joe Karl of Detroit; a sister, Bregetta (Greg) Witter of Fort Wayne, IN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby G.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 11, at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton. Rev. William O’nan, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 3 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
