Faith Jeanette Heinlein

Faith Jeanette (Seney) Heinlein of Vassar, age 82, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 while at Covenant Health- Cooper. She was born on February 24, 1944, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Myrtle (Houghtaling) Seney. She attended Vassar High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. Later, she went on to Saginaw Business Institute and received her Clerk-Typist Certificate.

On February 26, 1966, Faith was united in marriage to Robert Otto Heinlein at First Baptist Church in Vassar. Together they shared fifty-nine wonderful years of marriage before Robert's passing on January 25, 2026.

Faith was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church for a few years before becoming a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville.

Above all, Faith will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother. She took great joy in teaching her daughters how to sew and bake, and many summer mornings were spent together in the kitchen preparing sweet treats before the day's heat set in. The cherry tarts, brownies, and snackcake recipes became family favorites and remain some of their most treasured memories. Her children also fondly recall the simple joy of sharing homemade root beer floats with their mother and father on warm summer evenings.

Left to cherish Faith’s memory is her daughters, Sarah (Tom) Reid and Hannah (Norm) Howard; grandchildren, Hunter Reid, Michael Reid, Zachary Denniston, and Nathaniel (Emma) Howard; and sisters-in-law, Sally Seney, Frances Davis and Linda Caspers; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. In addition to her parents and loving husband, Faith was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Seney; brothers-in-law, Donald Davis and John Casper.

A committal service for Faith and Robert will be scheduled at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Michael’s General Fund.
