Fern Vansickle

Fern VanSickle, 94, of Owendale, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

Fern was born April 10, 1928 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Edward and Mira (McCain) Howard. Fern was a foster grandparent at local schools. She loved crafts, growing flowers in her yard and playing Skip Bo everyday.

Fern is survived by her children Dennis (Lynn) Pavlichek of Owendale and Brenda (Dennis) Filary of Bay City; grandchildren Denise (Ron), Nick (Kathy), Chris (Mardi), Scott (Tara), Michelle (Todd), and Tim; great-grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Brooklyn, David, Dillon, Kinsey, Ben, Nathan, Brendan, and Zachary; great-great-grandchildren Gavin, Maitland, Finley, Jackson, Bennett, Easton, and Rhett; sisters Norma Jean Putman and Hazel Good both of Owendale; sister-in-law Shirley Howard of Florida; and stepchildren Martha, Marilyn, Marie, Meta, and Doug. She was preceded in death by her husbands Mike Pavlichek and Leslie VanSickle, sisters Marguerite Hough, Georgia Pavlichek, and Alberta Bach, and brothers Ed Howard Jr. and Paul Howard.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, December 29th at the Gagetown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial will be in Grant Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7pm Wednesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel.
