Florence S. Haley, age 79, of Elkton died Monday evening, May 8, at Bay Special Care Hospital, Bay City.
She was born September 13, 1926, in Detroit and moved to the Ubly area in her youth with her parents, the late Arthur and Marguerite (Morrison) Marshall.
Shortly after high school, she and Donald L. Haley were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Bad Axe on September 22, 1945. They spent many winters in Florida. Don preceded her in death August 7, 1983.
Florence was a life long and very active member of the First Baptist Church of Bad Axe. She was an avid golfer for many years, golfing on several leagues. She enjoyed art, creating many paintings herself. Gardening was also a hobby of hers, especially growing roses.
Surviving are three sons: Roger (Val) Haley of Grant Twp, Randy (Cheryl) Haley of Elkton and R. William (Kerri) Haley of Shields; six grandchildren: Gretchen (Todd) Roestel, Kristi (Greg) Hanby, Meghann (Matt) Herford, Casey (Carmen) Haley, Marla (Anthony) Kopah and Joshua Haley and eight great grandchildren: Travis, Austin, Kendal, Ian, Tristen, Dante, Willow and Orion.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Linda and a sister, Ruth Cramer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, May 11, at First Baptist Church of Bad Axe. Rev. Jay Barsaleau, pastor, will officiate with burial in Colfax Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and at the church after 10 AM Thursday.
